Lone Birch, Forest of Bowland

The Forest of Bowland remains as one of Lancashire's secrets - beautiful scenery that you can often have all to yourself. This lone birch stood proud amongst a steep heather covered hillside and seemed a symbol of nature's struggle against the elements.
